Educational Programs: The Chicago District Golf Association (CDGA) Turfgrass Program staff presents information to benefit golf course superintendents, primarily providing information for superintendent organization meetings, which include the Midwest, Chicagoland, Central Illinois, Northwest Illinois, and Michiana affiliate organizations of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). Superintendents receive current CDGA research results that assist in the optimal management of healthy turfgrass.
Educational Presentations: In addition to the educational opportunities afforded to the membership, Director of Turfgrass Programs, Dr. Settle has given numerous educational presentations in the past year. Past subjects have included “Planning Disease Control Strategies” and “Nematodes of Putting Greens: Guilty as Charged.”
In 2009, the Illinois Turfgrass Foundation research field day was held at Midwest Golf House. This new event, named the iTurfExpo, featured research presentations from the CDGA Turfgrass team along with researchers from The University of Illinois and Southern Illinois University. |
