LEMONT, Ill. – The Chicago District Golf Association (CDGA) has entered into an agreement with two leaders in the golf media landscape, Great Golf Resorts of the World (GGRW) and Cronin Communications, for the production of Chicago District Golfer magazine, the official publication of the CDGA.
Under the direction of the CDGA, GGRW will carry out the design, printing and mailing of the publication, while also contributing to the CDGA’s advertising sales efforts. Longtime golf journalist and communications representative Barry Cronin of Cronin Communications will serve as the magazine’s editor, working in conjunction with the CDGA and GGRW to map out each issue’s content.
“We are excited to partner with GGRW and Cronin Communications in an effort to bring our strong publication to another level,” said CDGA Executive Director Robert Markionni. “Both entities bring a wealth of experience to the table in their respective fields and we look forward to collaborating with them to produce an excellent member communication piece.”
Initiated in 1990 and celebrating its 30th year in 2020, Chicago District Golfer is printed six times and produced digitally four times annually. The publication is mailed to 60,000 households of CDGA members and nearly 400 CDGA member clubs as a complimentary benefit of membership. The content revolves around the people, places, trends and events that are part of the local and national golf landscapes.
GGRW’s multimedia umbrella, which is more widely known in the industry as PGA Magazine Group, consists of assets and partnerships with a wide array of golf organizations. Namely, GGRW is partnered with other Allied Golf Associations similar to the CDGA, such as the Southern California Golf Association, Northern California Golf Association, Carolinas Golf Association, the Golf Association of Philadelphia and the Metropolitan Golf Association in New York. In total, GGRW’s multimedia assets reach nearly 1.2 million avid golfers nationwide. The company also publishes PGA Magazine under license from the PGA of America, among other leading industry initiatives that encompass relationship, digital and print elements.
