The Friends and Family slate on the 2023 Social Competitions schedule consisted of the inaugural CDGA Family Classic and CDGA Mixed Championship, both presented by Zero Friction. These events offered a unique opportunity for CDGA members to compete alongside close friends or relatives they’ve always wanted to team with at two fantastic facilities in the Chicago District.
LAKE IN THE HILLS, Ill. – Familiar faces reigned supreme in the 52nd CDGA Mixed Championship Thursday at Boulder Ridge Country Club. Douglas Meyer (Ivanhoe Club) and Lauren Meyer (Ivanhoe Club) repeated as Overall Gross champions, while Tom Eder (Royal Melbourne CC) and Marsha Eder (Royal Melbourne CC) earned the Overall Net crown for the second-straight year.

The Meyers totaled 71 points in the stableford scoring competition to win their fifth CDGA Mixed title in the last six years. The Eders tallied 74 points en route to their repeat triumph.
In total, 39 pairs competed in the competition, which dates back to 1974. Prizes from the likes of Zero Friction, Rocket Tour and Boulder Ridge were awarded to the top three pairs in both the Gross and Net divisions.
The inaugural CDGA Family Classic presented by Zero Friction was held on Monday, July 10 at Prairie Landing Golf Club. A total of 36 familial duos competed for an array of prizes on the west-suburban links-style layout.
