World Handicap System Certification

The World Handicap System (WHS) took effect Jan. 1, 2020. Due to the significant changes to the handicap system, all clubs MUST be certified by June 30, 2020. In order to be certified, a representative from the club is required to pass an online exam that will be distributed via a separate link by the CDGA.

The CDGA is working on a comprehensive list of clubs that are already certified. We will post this by February 10, 2020.

The CDGA will be teaching in-person classes as well as a webinar to help prepare for the online exam (the in-person class is optional but highly recommended). Five in-person workshops and one webinar have been scheduled for spring 2020 and all are limited to 80 participants. The full presentation recording will also be available through, but will not be posted until late spring.

Each seminar begins at 9 a.m. (with registration at 8:30 a.m.) and should conclude by 12 p.m. There is no fee for CDGA member clubs to attend and multiple individuals from the same club may attend. For non-CDGA member clubs, the registration fee is $75 per person to be paid the day of the seminar. Space is limited and registration must be submitted at least 7 days in advance of the seminar.

No walk-ins will be allowed.

(Note: CDGA number is not a requirement for registration)
